Stromereien
Performance Festival Zurich
30 July- 7 August 2008

STROMEREIEN Performance Festival adds a new dimension to the cultural life of Zurich by giving site specific performance art an exclusive space. We present local and international artists coming from different backgrounds such as visual arts, dance and theatre. The artists choose a site and present or adapt a performance work exclusively for STROMEREIEN. The location of the event is the shore of the river Limmat and various sites in and around Tanzhaus Wasserwerk Zurich (centre for contemporary dance Zurich).

STROMEREIEN gives some priority to contemporary, experimental dance. The programme consists of invited internationally known performance artists and young, local artists that have been proposing their project to the STROMEREIEN-selection committee. It is our aim to encourage local artists in their development and to create a platform for open air and site-specific performance art.

STROMEREIEN is happening every second year in the first week of August.

The next edition of STROMEREIEN is in preparation and will take place 1–9 August 2007. For information about project applications please consult our webpage: www.stromereien.ch
